OCTOBER 19 FOODSTOCK

FOODSTOCK is Saturday, October 19, 2013 from 1-6 p.m. on the San Marcos Courthouse lawn.  This is a fun, FREE event  with music, food, art and activities for everyone in the community.

Tentative Event Schedule:

Opening Band 1:00 p.m.  Chief and the Doomsday Device

1:30 p.m. Grant Ewing Band

2:30 p.m. Turkeys Tackling Hunger Pep Rally

3:30 p.m. Derailers

5:00 p.m. The Announcing of the PumpkinPalooza and Can-Do Winners

5:15 p.m. Those Nights

Make sure to enter your pumpkin in the PumpkinPalooza Carving Contest! Bring your own artistic, scary or beautifully carved (any size) pumpkin to the event.   Carved pumpkins will be entered into the contest and the top three winners will be announced.  These creative pumpkins will be available for purchase and proceeds will benefit the Hays County Food Bank.  Carved entries must be presented to the judging area between 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. on the contest date, along with $10 non-refundable entry fee. Carved pumpkins will not be returned to owners.

Participate in the Can-Do competition! Help your neighbors in need by competing with other individuals and businesses to collect the most food drive donations. The winner with the biggest collection receives a custom trophy that rotates between each of the event winners.

Most Needed Food Item List for the Can-Do competition:

Canned and Fresh Fruits and Veggies, Macaroni & Cheese, 1 lb. Rice and Bean bags, Pasta and Pasta Sauce, Peanut Butter, Jelly, and Soups.  No items larger than 1lb. accepted. Bring donations to FOODSTOCK by 4:30 p.m.
